Trent’s current location in the northeastern part of the United States

As I mentioned earlier, I am currently in the northeastern part of the United States, specifically in the breathtaking state of Maine. It’s a beautiful region known for its stunning coastlines, charming towns, and delicious seafood. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to cook fresh lobster in my van and experience the beauty of a Maine beach while gaming.

Trent’s plan is to cook lobster in his van and game on a beach

Now, let’s talk about my exciting plan for today. I am going to cook a mouthwatering lobster feast right here in my van. There’s something special about cooking seafood in a cozy van and savoring its flavors amidst nature’s beauty. And after I’m done with my feast, I’ll set up my gaming station right on the beach. Picture this: gaming with the sound of crashing waves and golden sand beneath my toes. It’s going to be an unforgettable experience.

Gathering Supplies for the Lobster Feast

Trent’s visit to a food truck and grocery store

Before I can dive into the lobster feast, I need to gather all the necessary supplies. My first stop is a local food truck, recommended by a friendly local, where I can buy some fresh seafood. Nothing beats the taste of freshly caught lobster, and I want to make sure to get the best quality.

After the food truck, I head to a nearby grocery store to pick up additional ingredients for the lobster feast. I grab some lettuce, avocado, lemon, and other items that will complement the flavors of the lobster. It’s shaping up to be an incredible meal.

List of supplies for cooking the lobster feast

Here’s a quick rundown of the supplies needed for the lobster feast:

  1. Fresh lobster from the local food truck
  2. Lettuce for a salad
  3. Avocado to add a creamy texture
  4. Lemon for a tangy twist
  5. Additional spices and condiments to enhance the flavors

With these supplies in hand, I’m ready to head to the beach and start cooking!

Beach Camping and Cooking Lobster

Finding a boat ramp neighborhood for camping

I arrive at a boat ramp neighborhood nestled on a peninsula with a stunning view of the surrounding islands. It’s the perfect spot for beach camping. Despite being a residential area, this boat ramp allows visitors to park and enjoy the beach. I find a cozy spot to park my van, ensuring that I have a prime view of the ocean.

Arriving at the beach and preparing to cook the lobster

With my van parked just a stone’s throw away from the beach, I can’t wait to get started on the lobster feast. I set up my cooking station and started boiling a pot of water to cook the lobster. The anticipation is building, and I can almost taste the deliciousness.

Playing with Millie, Trent’s dog, while waiting for the water to boil

While waiting for the water to reach a rolling boil, I take the opportunity to play with Millie, my trusty furry companion. We fetch sticks, enjoy the cool ocean breeze, and embrace the joy of living in the present moment. It’s moments like these that make van life so special.

Cooking the lobster and preparing a lobster salad

The water is finally boiling, and it’s time to cook the lobster. I carefully place the lobster in the pot and let it cook for around 13 minutes. The tantalizing aroma fills the van as the lobster reaches perfection.

After letting the lobster cool down a bit, I crack it open and extract the succulent meat. To create a lobster salad, I mix the meat with mayonnaise, spices, and some finely chopped celery. The combination of flavors is pure bliss.

Enjoying the lobster salad on the beach and playing games on PC

With the lobster salad prepared and plated, it’s time to savor the fruits of my labor. I dig into the salad, enjoying the exquisite blend of flavors. The freshness of the lobster, the creaminess of the avocado, and the tanginess of the lemon create a symphony of tastes on my palate.

As I indulged in the lobster feast, I couldn’t resist setting up my trusty gaming PC on the beach. With the soothing sounds of crashing waves and the mesmerizing view before me, I immerse myself in a gaming session. It’s the perfect combination of relaxation and excitement, all in one breathtaking location.

City Stealth Camping and Exploring Rockland

Camping in an RV parking lot

After leaving the beach, it’s time to find a spot for the night. Unfortunately, finding suitable campsites in Maine can be challenging, especially when you’re looking for remote nature spots. So tonight, I have to resort to city stealth camping. I found an RV parking lot in the heart of a charming town called Rockland. While it may not be the most picturesque camping spot, it’s a convenient and legal place to spend the night.

Exploring the town of Rockland

Before settling in for the night, I take a little time to explore the town of Rockland. It’s a quaint and lively place, with charming shops, restaurants, and friendly locals. I embrace the opportunity to immerse myself in the local culture and discover hidden gems.

Visiting a bakery and getting recommendations from a local

No exploration would be complete without indulging in some local delicacies. I make sure to visit a bakery and savor some freshly baked goods. While there, I strike up a conversation with a friendly local who gives me some amazing recommendations for places to visit in Rockland. It’s always great to connect with the locals and uncover hidden gems.

Water Tank Refill and Overnight Parking

Filling up a water tank at a public spigot

A crucial part of vanlife is ensuring a constant supply of water. So, it’s time to refill my water tank. I locate a public spigot and carefully fill up my tank to ensure I have enough water for the next leg of my adventure. It’s a practical and necessary task that keeps me self-sufficient on the road.

Discovering a parking lot for overnight camping

With my water tank replenished, it’s time to find a suitable spot for overnight camping. After some scouting around, I stumbled upon a parking lot that allows overnight stays. It’s not the most glamorous location, but it provides a safe and legal place to rest for the night.

Visit to a lighthouse (no pets or vehicles allowed)

While exploring the area near my overnight parking spot, I came across a stunning lighthouse. However, I quickly discovered that pets and vehicles are not allowed in the lighthouse area. Although I can’t bring Millie, my furry companion, along, I still take the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the lighthouse from a distance. It’s a reminder that not every adventure goes exactly as planned, but serendipity can lead to unexpected discoveries.

Enjoying a Beautiful Beach and Walmart Parking Lot Camping

Finding a beautiful beach and enjoying the scenery

I stumble across a hidden gem—a beautiful beach with picturesque scenery. It’s the perfect spot to relax, take in the breathtaking views, and immerse myself in nature’s beauty. I spend some time enjoying the serenity and appreciating the wonders of the natural world.

Camping overnight in a nearby Walmart parking lot

As the day draws to a close, I need to find a safe place to camp for the night. Since there are limited options for remote camping in the area, I opted for a Walmart parking lot nearby. While it may not be the most glamorous camping spot, Walmart parking lots often provide a convenient and secure place to park overnight for van dwellers.

Cooking curry and playing the game Seven Days to Die

With my van parked in the Walmart parking lot, I prepare a delicious curry dinner. Using fresh ingredients such as broccoli, peppers, chickpeas, coconut milk, and spices, I create a flavorful and satisfying meal. As I enjoy my curry, I also indulge in one of my favorite games, Seven Days to Die. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a day filled with adventure and exploration.

Conclusion

Trent’s overall vanlife experience in the northeastern part of the United States

My time in the northeastern part of the United States has been nothing short of extraordinary. From cooking a lobster feast in my van to gaming on stunning beaches, this adventure has been a dream come true. Living the van life gives me the opportunity to explore beautiful locations, connect with locals, and create unforgettable memories along the way.
